War Story:
Destroyed by sapper attack at Dong Ba Thin.
Enemy sappers infiltrated through the ROK sector of the heliport perimeter; 9
satchel charges were detonated, causing extensive damage to several unit
helicopters. six of the nine charges were placed in or beneath the 92nd's Hueys;
the remainder were placed beneath float helicopters assigned to the 608th
Transportation Helicopter Maintenance company. Four charges were later found
that failed too detonate. There were no friendly or enemy casualties during the
incident. The sappers successfully infiltrated, placed their charges, and
escaped without being sighted. Damage to the unit aircraft was two totally
destroyed, three strike damage, and one with minor damage. from Pete Harlem,
